La Casita Cultural Center
La Casita Boricua is established to advance an educational and cultural agenda of community and civic engagement through research, cultural heritage preservation, media, and the arts, bridging the Puerto Rican communities in our county with other Latinxs and our people in The Island. La Casita will be a free space where members make their diverse statements of Puerto Rican identity as it transforms through our experience in the Diaspora.
La Casita de La Mesa provides a creative space to explore traditional, modern and experimental expressions of our culture. Providing programming that enhances and preserves the Puerto Rican identity and culture in our County. La Casita will host history programs, live performances, art exhibits, lessons for children, families and adults, including but not limited to people with special needs such as at-risk youth, ESOL students and economically challenged individuals and families.Celebrate Puerto Rican Culture and its protagonists at La Casita eventas, and through outreach events at schools, libraries, community centers, festivals and other opportunities.
